Report: Gunners boss Wenger to quit by 2017?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dropped the biggest hint that he could leave the Gunners in 2017, according to The Mirror.

The Frenchman, whose current contract expires at the end of the next season, is thought to have laid out his career plans at the Annual General Meeting.

Wenger said: “I am resolute to commit absolutely until the last day of my contract to bring back big success to this club, and leave as well one day in a position where it can do even better when I leave.

“That is for me very important that I leave the club in the shape that the guy who comes after me can do better.

“The responsibility on my shoulders is much bigger. I know what it means for people. I know how sad people are when we don’t do well, I know how sad people are when we lose a game.”

The 65-year-old has guided his side to nine major trophies including three Premier League titles during his 19-years at the Emirates.

Arsenal are second in the league table, two points behind Manchester City and will return to Premier League action when the Gunners will travel to Watford on Saturday.
